Who bears the burden of proving that property belongs to them within a marital union?

In accordance with Article 222 of the Turkish Civil Code, the person who claims that a specific asset belongs to one of the spouses is obliged to prove their claim. Assets for which it cannot be proven which spouse they belong to are considered to be under their joint ownership. All assets of a spouse are presumed to be acquired property until proven otherwise.
