Separation of Personal Property and Acquired Property
In accordance with Article 228 of the Turkish Civil Code;
* The personal property and acquired property of the spouses shall be separated according to their status at the moment the matrimonial property regime ends.
* In the event that lump-sum payments have been made to one of the spouses by social security or social assistance institutions, or compensation has been paid due to loss of labor force, the amount that would have been the capitalized value of the annuity for the period following the date the matrimonial property regime ended—had a lifetime annuity been granted instead of the lump-sum payment or compensation in accordance with the procedure applied by the relevant social security or social assistance institution—shall be included in the liquidation as personal property in that amount.
