Action for Recovery of Inheritance
Pursuant to Article 637 of the Turkish Civil Code;
A statutory or appointed heir may file a lawsuit for recovery of inheritance against anyone in possession of the estate or certain estate assets by asserting their superior right of inheritance. In this lawsuit, the judge also resolves disputes regarding the status of heirship. Upon the request of the plaintiff, the judge shall take all necessary measures to protect the right, such as requiring the defendant to provide security or entering an annotation in the land registry.
