Statute of Limitations for Filing an Inheritance Claim Action
In accordance with Article 639 of the Turkish Civil Code;
The lawsuit for recovery of inheritance is subject to a statute of limitations of 1 year starting from the date the plaintiff learns that they are an heir and that the defendant, who is in good faith, is in possession of the estate or an asset of the estate, and in any case, 10 years from the death of the decedent or the opening of the testament. The statute of limitations against those who are not in good faith is 20 years.
