What Are the Reasons for Avoiding Guardianship?
In accordance with Article 417 of the Turkish Civil Code, the following persons may decline the guardianship:
1. Those who have reached the age of 60,
2. Those who would have difficulty performing this duty due to physical disabilities or chronic illnesses,
3. Those who are the guardians of more than four children,
4. Those who already hold a guardianship position,
5. The President, members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, vice presidents, ministers, and members of the judiciary and prosecution professions.
