When is a declaration of disappearance issued?

In accordance with Article 33 of the Turkish Civil Code, for a declaration of absence to be requested, at least 1 year must have passed since the danger of death or at least 5 years must have passed since the date of the last news. The court summons persons who have information about the person to be declared absent to provide information within a certain period of time through a duly made announcement. This period is at least 6 months, starting from the day the first announcement is made.
