What Are the Conditions for the Adoption of Minors?

Pursuant to Article 305 of the Turkish Civil Code, the adoption of a minor is conditional upon the minor having been cared for and educated by the adopter for a period of one year. Adoption must, in any case, be in the best interest of the minor, and the interests of the adopter's other children must not be unfairly prejudiced.
