What Is a Brand?
Pursuant to Article 4 of the Industrial Property Law (SMK);
A trademark may consist of any signs, including words, including personal names, designs, colors, letters, numbers, sounds, and the shape of goods or their packaging, provided that they are capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings and are represented on the register in a manner which enables the competent authorities and the public to determine the clear and precise subject matter of the protection afforded to its proprietor.
A trademark is any sign that can be depicted graphically or expressed in a similar manner, which can be published and reproduced by printing, provided that it enables the goods and/or services of one undertaking to be distinguished from the goods and/or services of another undertaking, including, in particular, words, designs, letters, numbers, and the shape of goods or their packaging, including personal names.
