Recognition Case
Pursuant to Article 295 of the Turkish Civil Code; recognition is effected by the father’s written application to the civil registry officer or the court, or by a declaration made in an official deed or his will. If the person making the declaration of recognition is a minor or under legal disability, the consent of their legal representative or guardian is also required. A child who has a paternal filiation bond with another man cannot be recognized unless this bond is invalidated.
